Kikutext was born out of a problem that we personally experienced as public school teachers in Hawaii. Frustrated with the difficulty of maintaining consistent communication with each of their 100+ parents, Max and Mark teamed up with their tech savvy friend, Danny to build a solution.
We built Kikutext to make parent engagement easy for teachers and parents because we understand the tremendous benefit for students, when there is more communication between school and home. We are passionate about solving this problem and excited for the potential impact it could have for teachers, parents, and students everywhere.
In addition to teaching 7th grade math in Aiea,Hawaii (TFA 2010 Corps), Max handles product and business development for Kikutext. As a nerd at heart, Max is well versed in the intricacies of Star Wars, Star Trek (TNG), and his favorite, Lord of the RIngs. Ever the animal lover, he has been known to occasionally rescue stray cats.
Mark teaches high school English in Aiea, Hawaii (TFA 2010 Corps) and leads Kikutext's marketing and media efforts. Mark is also a capable musician, playing the guitar, piano, and vocal chords (he has the voice of an angel). Although he's a nice guy, Mark hates cats.
As Kikutext's resident programmer, Danny is in charge of all technical areas of product development. Aside from being a genuine hack-o-saurus rex, Danny loves pumping iron, and sculpting his beard into a rugged work of art. Even though Danny pretends not to like cats...he secretly does.
